Anulka at Baldoyle Bay Biosphere Festival
I was kindly invited to participate in the Baldoyle Bay Biosphere Festival hosted by the Baldoyle Community Hall on Saturday 20 May 2023. It was a fantastic day, filled with fun activities for all ages, and superb biodiversity and environment awareness talks all day.
The event celebrated Baldoyle Bay which is a site of international importance with EU protection and UNESCO status. I particularly liked the 'hand-picked' nature of the speakers and vendors. They were local and relevant to the theme of the festival. You could tell they all genuinely care about our local biodiversity and environment. It was amazing to be in such a meaningful company.
Anulka’s stand was busy with people discovering the beauty of local seaweed through seaweed pressings demos and works on display. I had many interesting chats and loved showing people the intricate and beautiful details of seaweed up close. My favourite moments were when people realized the seaweed pressings were real seaweed pieces, not drawings or prints. I think some people might have started looking at seaweed differently as a result!
There is a belief that the more we appreciate and love nature, the more we care about it as a result. So let’s keep the beautiful seaweed healthy and happy by caring for Baldoyle Bay and every other body of water.

I love attending events and markets like this where there is a strong focus on the local community, environmental awareness and love for nature, wildlife and biodiversity. If you would like to include Anulka at your event, let's talk.
